Have you heard this scripture written about Jesus, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth" (John 1:14)? This scripture in the Book of John explains that Jesus Himself is the Word of God. But when John wrote this the gathering of the books and epistles that became the New Testament had yet to occur, so John was actually speaking of the Torah and the prophets when he spoke of Jesus being the Word. I say all this to say that if a person really loves Jesus, they should love all of the Word, for He is the Word.
This idea of Jesus being reflected in the "Old" Testament is reinforced by Jesus when speaking to the two on the road to Emmaus. "Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself" (Luke 24:25-27). So we see here that the whole of Bible instructs us about Jesus, the Son of God.
In this video we will seek to show how many people avoid knowing Jesus by avoiding reading the Bible or by only "cherry picking" the parts that suit them. Climb aboard this podcast express to see the different types of Jesus avoidance that occur by those who avoid reading the Bible, those who cherry pick the parts that suit them, and those that study it incessantly only to distort what it says to gain the upper hand. It's a wild ride, so buckle up!
