Who Will Betray God’s people? How to Respond

In this message I should have less than a hundred views/clicks, because the only people I'm applying this particular idea of betrayal to are commandment keeping followers of Jesus Christ, and there just aren’t very many people actually obeying Him.  I'm not intending for this message to comfort the "phonies," the lukewarm, once saved always saved, do whatever I want types, or the hypocrites who measure themselves by some ever-changing code of morality that doesn't jibe with God's law (like Paul). No, there's no need for those types to watch/read any more of this.  They can just click off the page, because, frankly, THESE ARE THE ENEMIES WHO WILL BETRAY GOD’S TRUE PEOPLE and some of them will even think they do God service in so doing (John 16:2).

Betrayers of God’s true people (who follow Jesus Christ by KEEPING GOD’S Commandments - John 14) won’t just be the obvious ones who outwardly show condescension, anger and disdain.  Often the source of betrayal will be people, like Judas as one of the twelve, who are in your inner circle.  People who were seemingly your friends and family, who with duplicity acted as allies when in actuality they represented the enemy.

This is because if you are truly serving Christ, those who aren’t, those who as consequence have demonic spirits living within their souls, are now experiencing these demons ratcheting up the spirit of betrayal in them, for Satan knows his time is short (Revelation 12:12).

The demons know whatever purpose or mission God has you on and that you must be waylaid, delayed, attacked, distracted, diverted and destroyed from fulfilling it.  Their demons desperately want you to go where they are going, that is to the permanent locale of the lake of fire that burns with brimstone, and if you aren’t in agreement with them and their chaos, why then they will try to create chaos for you that, if they can’t cause to join them in eternity, they certainly will try to prevent you from helping others to do so.

On an emotional level, those who will hurt you the most will be those who you thought you could trust.  They often seemed as if they were nice people, amenable, but in the end they couldn’t help but betray you.  They don’t love God so how is it possible for them to love someone God’s children?  If the commandments are a light to us as to how to treat God and others, it is by default that those who don’t honor them will mistreat the people in their lives.  So it just can’t be helped that you would be a target of their hurt because the default mechanism in a person not actively following Christ is to defer to sin.

This betrayal will even manifest between themselves and others who are in agreement with Satan as they jockey for position and clout, but it’s amazing how Satan can use them as a cohesive unit when necessary,  and use them to keep the victim (or victims) trapped in a swirling vortex of chaos in order to accomplish his mission.

This is why Jesus said that a man’s foes shall be they of his own household, two against three, and three against two (Matthew 10:34-39).  Even your own blood relatives, in fact, especially your own blood relatives, will turn on you in betrayal.  And sometimes, it might be one of the ones you thought was part of your faction, part of the two against the three for example, who, for a time, had been right there with you and yet their own lack of commitment to Christ led to their betrayal of Him first as consequently of you.  No servant is above his master.  If they hate Him they’ll hate you (Matthew 10:24-25).

When that one you trusted betrays you though, the hurt is so palpable you could cut it with a knife.

Still, it can’t be helped.  The selfishness and self-centeredness of all those who won’t make things right with God are characteristics that will only become more evident in these last days, so much so that betrayal will seem more common than that of loyalty or even indifference.

This is why it’s time for the children of God to recognize these behaviors in the people around us and, when God calls us to, do what we can to limit our exposure.

The main way to discern who the Judases is to see how they respond to your attempts, per Jesus’ Words, to get them to see they’ve done wrong to you (Matthew 18:15-17).

If they won’t recognize their wrong, nor repent, you know you have a betrayer.  If they falsely accuse you (often of something they themselves are guilty of), you have a betrayer.  I am counseling myself and all others that if there’s no attempt on the wrong doer’s part to make things right or to recognize the truth of their false accusation and make that right as well, then these people are not to be trusted.  Even if they say they believe in Jesus, their behavior serves to prove that in application they don’t follow Him.  Remember the devils know there’s one God and tremble (James 2:19) and so do phonies who save that have faith but no fruit of their behavior or works proves it out.

People who claim Christ but don’t obey Him can be liars and betrayers worse than those who don’t even acknowledge Jesus.  Jesus said it this way,

“They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me” (Matthew 16:2-3).

A critical aspect to remember with a betrayer’s regard, especially with one who was your close knit friend, is that you must take the proper steps to get passed what they’ve done in order to heal, otherwise the betrayal can linger and fester and turn into unforgiveness in you.  This may cause you to want to hurt them back.  Don’t do this.  Leave it all in God’s hands.

But do not let them or anyone else misappropriate God’s Word with regard to forgiveness to force you to resume fellowship with anyone who is unrepentant of the wrong that’s been done to you when Jesus made it clear to treat those who will not repent as “heathens and publicans” (Matthew 18:15-17).  Satan is trying to keep you subjugated to the abuse of his minions through these liars who twist God’s Word to keep you there.  Jesus’s process is simple: confront your wrong-doer yourself, if he won’t receive it, bring two or three with you, if he won’t receive it then, bring them before the Church.  And if, after all of that, they won’t receive it, why then you MOVE ON and have nothing to do with them.

When dealing with family this may seem like a hard word, but continuing to expose yourself to these unrepentant Narcissists and Jezebels only creates more abuse and diversionary drama in your life to keep you from being able to serve God and minister the gospel to those who will receive it.  That’s what these demon filled body bags are for.  TO HURT AND DESTROY YOUR TESTIMONY.  If you’ve lost peace in a relationship and are in constant torment, pray to the Father in Jesus’ name to help you GET AWAY.  Even if you are wrong about what is causing the torment, some time away will be the only way to seek God without interference, to clear your mind and properly discern what’s going on.

Remember Jesus said, “I did not come to bring peace but a sword…a man’s foes shall be they of his own household…” (Matthew 10:34-36). The sword is one of division. Jesus is separating the sheep from the goats.  And especially now as we are about to enter the first three and a half years of the tribulation, we must be on our purpose for God as the ones ministering the TRUE AND HOLY GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST (NOT PAUL!) because the time is short and there are so few people preaching the true gospel. It’s time for many of us to shake the dust off our feet (Matthew 10:14-15) from the people who God had, for a time, allowed us to be a light in their lives, and often to be servants to (because the greatest among us is the servant of all - Matthew 23:11-12) but they so often took advantage of and abused us.

It’s time to begin to surround ourselves with like minded people who are trying to progress the kingdom of God in the same way as you. If you can’t find other people like that, pray that God would bring them.  Many of you are alone, and you feel that aloneness to your core.  What I am telling you now may sound harsh, but I say it to myself, STOP WHINING AND COMPLAINING about being alone!  YOU ARE NOT ALONE for the Father is with you (John 8:16, 16:32).

YOU ARE ONE OF THE FEW PEOPLE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS GOD! And I say this to myself, stop being such a little, whiny BITCH, suck it up, and proceed serving Him with JOY because YOU KNOW HIM, KNOW WHAT HE REQUIRES, and inasmuch as you stay in agreement with Him, that you’ve inherited eternity.  You’ve solved the riddle of this life and will have an eternity in bliss.  Don’t let Satan trick you into being down and depressed about your earthly circumstances.  Rejoice in God!

Still, in these last days many of us will be brought together in small “families” of like minded Believers, but as long as you are alone stop the whining and self-pity about because that self-pity opens the door to demons, and those demons will cause you to drop your discernment about people and throw caution to the wind so that in your loneliness you will bring those very betrayers back into your life just so you can have some company.  And this is where so many of us go wrong.  We compromise the wisdom of God to keep company with sinners who hate God.  Why should we be surprised when after the love bombing stage they turn us?  Sinners can’t help it, they’re fully demonized.

I know I’ve used some harsh language, but you have to stop the whining and embrace the fact that you know God and unlike most can love and serve Him and that’s worth more than anything this life has to offer.  You’ve found the hidden treasure, quit pouting like you opened the treasure box and found dirt and worms!!! How insulting to God when we do this!!!

But back to our main point, Jesus warned that there will be people who will kill or try to kill us who will think they do God service. Again, they actually serve Satan, and they will be serving their little g god to do so, (just like Paul was sent to kill and then trick Believers to HATE God’s Law while making up his own!)

If you as true Believer in the Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ think you might be exempt of this, at this point you obviously know or at least are learning otherwise now that betrayal is more common than loyalty.  Jesus put it this way,

“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.  Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you” (Matthew 5:10-12).

You won’t be able to ride the fence and keep peace with everyone any more.  You will have to declare your side, go to it and move with that side from now on.  So many Believers want everyone to like them.  THIS IS JUST NOT POSSIBLE when so many people are just flesh body bags for the most hateful, evil, diabolical creatures in existence - demons! You can’t make peace with them!  This is not possible.  They don’t understand reason.  They love chaos and death. The demons HATE YOU and, as a consequence, so do their hosts!  They are full of hatred!!! GET AWAY from them unless God is directly leading you otherwise.  At this juncture in history it’s time to stop putting your blood family above your real family: the family of God!

“Then came to him (Jesus) his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press. And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee. And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it” (Luke 8:19-21).

Fear of Demons: The Place They Hide & Thrive

Many people who convert to following God’s Word from false Christianity have a misunderstanding about devils or demons that has in large part been propagandized by the Satanic kingdom through media, popular culture and the false Church itself. The misunderstanding leads to fear, one that says they are extremely dangerous and scary creatures you DO NOT want to face, and if you do, you will be sure to put yourself in great jeopardy.

Another aspect they try to promote is that if you do fight them and win then you’ll have completed the mission and won’t have to contend with them ever again.  This makes recently “delivered” Christians extremely troubled when evidence of demonic spirits arises again.  They thought they were delivered and now the demons are back!  No way!!!  And this too leads to fear, a fear that gives them a place to hide and thrive.

So the propaganda is either make you afraid, very afraid, so you will try to limit interactions with demons altogether and to forget they’re even around whereby the demons may continue their work unmolested.

One such movie that promoted this narrative was, “The Exorcist”.  The priests come to the home of a young possessed girl in an attempt to exorcise her demons, but instead the demons are able to manifest in horrific and grotesque ways, to toy with the priests, and finally are only extracted after one priest is killed and the other tells the demons to enter himself in lieu of remaining in the girl.  Once the transference is accomplished, the priest then voluntarily hurls himself through a second story window that feeds down an additional height of a several story stair case, thus the priest dies a horrible death.  Linda is delivered though and seemingly goes on to live a normal life afterward.

So the movie communicates that you don’t want to tangle with demons but if you do and win, you won’t have to do so again.  Both are lies.

Granted, a movie like “The Exorcist” is part of the horror genre and is meant to scare you, and in so being it is an extremely effective tool of manipulation which serves the before stated purposes.

  1. It says, BE AFRAID and DO NOT tangle with demons.  Even “trained” Catholic priests (who in truth serve Satan through their Babylon mystery religion so it’s no surprise they) can’t handle them.
  2. Demons are capable of anything and you can’t stop them.
  3. If you just get them out of your life once, you won’t have to deal with them in the future.
  4. After that you better just ignore them or a worse thing may come upon you.

I’ve seen many young Christians who believe the Words of Jesus when He said in Mark 16, “These signs shall follow them that believe, they shall cast out devils…” stuck with an ongoing false belief that if they can just get the demons of their soul realm (the mind, will and emotions) once and for all that the whole matter can be over and done with, and that if they just live an obedient life, the demons will never come back.

This is the propaganda of Satan though because our existence in this world, of which Jesus called Satan the prince of this world three times in the Book of John (12:31, 14:30, and 16:11), is by default shared with devils or demons.  They are in the spirit world (and are also able to manifest in the natural, and will do so more and more when Satan and his demons are fully cast out of heaven, Rev 12:7-9), and are present in this system at all times, just as God’s Spirit and His holy angels are constantly around us as well.

Devils and demons are as much as part of the spiritual world around us as venomous snakes, scorpions and insects, wild lions, tigers and bears, and sharks, sting rays and jelly fish are in this earthly environment.  Because of the fall in the garden where woman and man disobeyed God and partook of the forbidden fruit, the earth became a dangerous place, and so did the spiritual world around us.

One way of proving Satan’s presence is to see that Satan came to tempt Jesus after His forty day fast in the wilderness.  Jesus told Satan to, “Get thee hence, Satan” (Matthew 4:10). “Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him” (Matthew 4:11).

But this was not a permanent departure for we we know Satan came back to try to tempt Jesus again because when He was telling His disciples of His future crucifiction,

“Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men” (Matthew 16:22-23).

So we see Jesus dealing with Satan again through Peter who was too spiritually weak or lacking in discernment to realize that in that moment he was being a vessel for Satan.

If Jesus had to deal with Satan on multiple occasion in His walk on this earth, so must we.  It’s really not that big of a deal. It just is what it is.  We have to deal with demons in this current system.  We won’t deal with them at all in the world to come, but now we must, and this is, again, why Jesus said the first sign that will follow them that believe is that they will cast out devils (Mark 16:15-18).

I Give Unto You Power…Over All The Power Of The Enemy

Demons know that we’ve been given all power over them, and this is why they work so hard to create a narrative where we fail to exact that power.  Take this excerpt from Luke 10:

“And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:17-19).

Jesus had told his disciples, those who keep His commandments, that they have been given all power over devils and that nothing the devils do can hurt them.

That’s a bold statement, but a Truth told to them to extract all fear from those who believe, follow and obey Him when casting out devils.

If any of us are afraid of demons at any time, that fear comes from the devils themselves.  And this fear gives the devils a solid foothold.

You can see this phenomena with earthly bullies, they thrive on your fear of what they might do.  But when you lean into them and stand up to them, showing them you’re not afraid, this is when their weakness and the chinks in their armor appear.  It’s not until you stand up to them that your superior strength will be made manifest.

So we cannot allow the fear of the very existence of demons and the potential for their presence to bother us in the least.  We must embrace the authority that Christ gives us whenever it is required and use it, acknowledging that there is no “once and for all” last battle with them while we’re alive, that we will have to face them again and again.  No big deal. It is what it is.

This does not mean we have to fight them all day every day either.  That’s another fear they try to place in us, that we will have to fight them continuously for the rest of our existences.  Even fear of that proposition gives them a foothold.  It’s once you realize that Jesus guarantees us the victory and that we will still be able to enjoy our walk with Him while also having unlimited power to defeat the demons that your confidence in Jesus’ Word increases dramatically, to a point that your trust in Him casts out the fear.

Perfect Love Casts Out Fear

As the Apostle John wrote, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love” (1 John 4:18).

A fear of demons can prevent your love with God being made perfect, because that means you are lacking the trust like that of a child in God that He requires.  Yes, this system, due to our sin, is a giant crap hole.  Yes there are some stinky, horrendous, horrible creatures lurking about the spiritual world, but Jesus has plucked you from the state of being subject to those powers, but given you authority over it all.

And so we must let go of any kind of fear with regard to demons.  Fear of their existence.  Fear that there are so many of them.  Fear that they can inhabit the spirit realm near and about us.  Fear that they may manifest in the natural at some point.  Fear of how ugly and grotesque they are.  Fear of them inhabiting us.  Fear of them never leaving us alone. Fear of them gaining advantage.

Again, all we need is confidence in Jesus, in His name, in His shed blood, a perfect trust in God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ, that they have empowered each and every one of us to deal with these demons, to extract them from our lives, and to help others do the same.

It is the demons who should be, and rightfully so, afraid of us. Very afraid, not just of us but of the One who fights on our behalf, for we fight in His name, the name of Jesus.

You Must Keep The Commandments To Walk in Authority

A final caveat that cannot be left out, because it can form a basis for all fear in a Christians life, is the fear that naturally occurs when we are operating outside of and against God’s Word.  When so many nominal Christand do as Paul said and ignore God’s law (and follow his).  It’s natural to feel as Believers we are on shaky ground when we don’t keep God’s Word.  Jesus said this about just such a situation:

“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great (Luke 6:46-47).

You will have built without a foundation on the sand if you do not adhere to God’s Word. Then you should be afraid, because you haven’t truly repented and made things right with God, so you are not truly part of His Kingdom.  In order to be a part of God’s Kingdom you must be IN AGREEMENT with Him and His Kingdom.  Being in sin, you have opened the door to Satan and his demons so you have good cause to be afraid.

It’s the getting out of sin and getting in line with God’s law that gives you the confidence in God’s Word to battle these demons and not fear them, even though they are in our environment.

John the apostle said it this way, “Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight” (1 John 3:21-22).

So keep God’s commandments and walk in the confidence of the authority God has so graciously given you over all demons, including Satan himself.  And above all, have no fear about, it’s just another day at the office for you.  No reason to be scared, if you are that means a demon lurks anyway, might as well start off by casting out the demon of fear!
